complete-aramaroo!!! 3 years ago

weeell now…. looking at me last entry, i was getting a little more specific about what pertains to organising my measely existence… so here be the update on that.

  1. facility for financial advancement: “job” – yup, my services are still profitable… for another month it seems. which i guess means i need to update my CV so i can find something else after don’t i? ach! caught out at number one!!! i thought i’d finished with this organising stuff? really, for the most part, well kind of… okay… bah!
  2. vehicular transportation mechanism: “brm brm” – aha! here’s a piece of progress :D i have a car!! feeling a little more, um, like having made progress now
  3. location of habitation: “ake-pad!” – i still have one of these! not that i’m ever there, but i’ve even mastered a regular reimbursement for the provision (“rent”) so thats all jolly good :)
  4. communication device type 1: “dog-and-bone” – yes still have that too… not that i phone many people.. i’m more of the rabid txting variety of homosapien _ [whispers] it’s cheaper!_ and i’m pretty dang impressed with getting these 50% extra top-up bonuses all the time. cheers vodafone!
  5. communication device type 2: “lappie” – yay! the latest addition!!! as of yesterday i’m now the proud owner of a lappie!!! laptop, if you prefer (without the annoying kiwi habit of “ie”-ifying terminology) altho i have got a bit of work to do now with setting it up and consolidating and sorting through all my disparate pockets of data. but once thats done i can give back the loaner and relish that i have on of my very own! i feel much more geek-worthy now :)

okay, so truth be told i still have a wee bit o’ organising to do (read as “heaps”... but i keep my boring old “to do” lists elsewhere than on 43T. makes it more fun to visit here). but i think i’ve made fair progress on this goal over the last 6 months… if i can say i’ve organised my life considerably over the last half year, then i could promise that at the end of the same duration into the future i will have some idea of what i’m doing with my life… maybe?

blerch, sounds and awful lot like planning if you ask me!! now where’s the ake spontanaeity in that huh? okay okay, not lookin for excusamooses… i’ll put some thought into it… hell, i’ve got 6 mths… and i’m allowed to say this goal is done for now right??

update 3 years ago

i kinda was just about to go hit the “i’ve done this” or “i give up” button for this goal… but then i read my last entry and thought paps it deserves attention after all

[before that my thoughts were either “ahh i’ve been doing plenty of life organising things i’m back on track now so it’s done” or “ahh i spend to much time trying to be organised the trick is just to go with the flow and do whats needed when its needed so lets just give up on this for now”]

but i spose i’ll do the boring update of where i’m at with all the oh-so-not-really-interesting aspects of life, AKAthe practicalities:

  • have a home
  • have a phone
  • had a job (not sure if there’s more work to come from it or whether i should be hunting for a new contract yet)
  • no car yet (altho i’m amounting some pingas for one)
  • no laptop yet (altho i’ve got a contra deal in the pipelines)

blerch :( i really dont like this goal becos it feels like i’m trying to sneak in sideways a “buy” goal… and if you’ve not been witness to my almighty ake pah! for such things before, the background is i’m so idealisticly pigheaded that i just dont want such insidious superficial little things on my list! so there.

but there you go. they kind of are on my list. but arent at the same time. loopholes, i tell you!!!

i think... 3 years ago

2006 has kinda become a big turning point for me… and an opportunity to (re) organise my life accordingly… i’ve already been making a whack of progress on this… i’ve made some observations and established some healthy routines ... and in figuring out what i need first i think i’m better able to figure out the myriad of things i want! in a more long term context… the short term sorting out of things like job, car, home, phone etc is more the topic for this goal in particular – organising my gawddang life!!!! and i am getting there :) and i’m learning to be more patient with myself in achieving this… despite external pressures that are imposing deadlines on these things! they really arent my problem. i’m happy with my progress…

blah blah blah… time to stop waffling on this subject and get on with something i think!

deadline 4 years ago

i’d like to get my currently incarnated To Do list completed by end of August—thats 5 days away!!! go go gadget motivation :)

goals reorganised 4 years ago

or should i say prioritised? the 10 or 11 at the top of the list are ones i’d like to say I’ve done this in the next few months. some hopefully due to completion, others might be requiring a little rationalisation – y’know, the old I’ve done this but I want to keep on doing it ;) long term goals have been shuffled to the bottom.

[and that all kept me happily procrastinating from doing real work for a while!]

my goals desperately need some reviewing and reorganising. not to mention all the 43P entries required for all the places i’ve been. curses that clever robot coop for making such a snazzy and addictive site. curses i tell you :P

Addicted to organising 4 years ago

I am. Totally. Annoyingly so even. So why would I bother with making it a goal? Again it’s another one of those reminder things… its not bad for me to organise my life as long as I’m not using it as a method of procrastination!

And it also provides a chance for me to define the organisational structure of my 43things (or 35 things, or 34 things, or 36 things or however many things I’ve got going on any particular day). So here it is:

01-05 daily reminders

06-10 physical challenges

11-15 travelling experiences

16-20 creative exploration

21-25 organising tasks

26-30 relate & communicate

31-35 beyond 2005

Finding balance in life can be a tricky thing. By defining categories and giving each a 5-goal block I’m hoping it’ll help me retain a balanced focus towards what I want to achieve in life.

Either that or I could be a compulsive organiser… or maybe just procrastinating… it really is hard to tell! ;o)

ake has gotten 21 cheers on this goal.
