Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

I'm pleased with this.

I’ve been blogging for a couple of weeks now and it’s going well. I’ve put up an entry most days and I even have a couple of people who read and comment on it!! I know it’s a bit daft, but it makes me feel proud of myself. I told my best mate about my blog last night and she’s going to have a look too. So far, she’s the only person in real life that has the address, one other friend knows but I haven’t given him the link yet, but might do soon.

Really enjoying this!

I know it’s only been a few days since I started doing this but I’m really enjoying it. I think a lot of it is because when I’ve blogged before it’s been more like me trying to use it to sort things out in my head. This time I decided not to really blog about my day to day life, but write entries about my opinions on various topics, some serious and some fun, though I will occasionally write about my life. So far I’m loving it. I’m not sure my writing is any good, but I’m having fun, which is the most important thing.

I decided to change the address to it again, as the other one was far too long (address at the top of my list page if anyone’s interested). I think if I continue to blog for a month I will mark this as done, but will hopefully continue for much longer than that.

Changed sites.

I had originally signed up with, but when I tried to access the account I couldn’t get in. I decided to try livejournal, but then found earlier today that I could get into blogger. So I have transfered my posts across from livejournal. If anyone fancies a look the address is

Sorry, it’s a bit long, I’m not sure how to shorten it!

Just signed up.

I’ve tried to blog on and off for a few years but have never kept it up. I’ve been thinking about trying again for a while now and thought I might as well give it a go. So I’ve signed up for a livejournal account and have made my first post (same username as here, in case anyone fancies a look). It’s not got a specific theme at the moment, it’s just about my life, the world and how I view it. At the moment I’ll aim to post once a week and when things catch my eye enough to write about them. I’m hoping that I’ll find it easier to keep this up, as I’ve posted on a regular basis here, so hopefully the habit will transfer across.
