Just got myself all worked up about the colposcopy again – then I read that the pap diagnosis given to me – HSIL, 2% or less have invasive cervical cancer at that time. 20% develop cancer when left untreated. – The odds are on my side

1. I want to be very healthy

3. looking that up right now
I finally got my appointment!! It is for the 4th Feb. Ok, so now it is more waiting. In the meantime I am going to eat as healthy as I can, make sure I put in excercise and hope that doing this will make the problem magically disappear! Actually, eat better, exercise, relax = healthy (I hope)
I still ahven’t received an appointment time for my colposcopy so I called the doctors office today as it has been 3 weeks. They gave me the number to try the hospital outpatient service. I called and asked if they had received my referal, they had, so now I keep waiting :)
still waiting – in the meantime I can plan my food for the following week and my exersize has already been planned for the next 4 weeks
I think about the colposcopy a lot and I’m thinking about cancer a lot too. I still haven’t got the appointment letter yet but I suppose it will take some time. I’ll give it 2 weeks then I’ll call and ask about it. In the meantime I have sorted out my meals and exercise for the week and a time during the week for just me to relax
Ok, so the doctor said I have to have further tests done because the result was CIN 2/3. So the next step is to have a colposcopy, which is like a pap smear but at the hospital and apparently it can be a bit uncomfortable :( Worse than that, I have a feeling I will need treatment for it and the treatments sound a bit scary.
About my pap smear results. She said that they came back abnormal and because this has happened before, I need to get further tests done. I was really scared when I heard this. I cried. I thought about the worst case scenario – that it might be cancer. I did some reading on what it means to have an abnormal pap smear result and it said it’s very unlikely to be cancer but it probably is the HPV virus which I have had for the last few years i know. While in itself this is not cancerous, it is something that if not treated may turn into cancer. So right now I have another doctors appointmnt on Thursday to be referred to a specialist who will do some further tests. I have read that this will be l;ike a pap smear only a bit longer but it will not hurt. Then a treatment plan will be discussed. Im a bit scared.
