This weekend was kinda a disaster…it seemed that nothing was going well. Nothing important, just silly stuff that shouldn’t upset my peace…but sometimes it does. :) We had been planning to eat at Numero Uno pizza before seeing a movie but when we got there with less than an hour before movie it was closed, out of business!. We ended up going to Mel’s Drive-In and quickly ordered. My food was bad, I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with fries…how can they mess that up? Anyway, I ate anyway because I was starving. I was still craving Numero Uno. Later in the evening when we were going home he just took another freeway and took me to the Numero Uno in Glendale for dinner…WHAT A GUY!

This school quarter is kicking my butt and my husband has been so supportive. One of the big jobs he’s taken on since the quarter started is to do all our laundry…and I was already behind. He’s amazing! and I know he really doesn’t like doing laundry…WHAT A GUY!
Our sugar bowl is small and cute…and annoying because it has to be filled pretty often. I usually do it, but pretty often my husband fills it up for us. I know it’s a tiny thing, but I love it when he does little things for me. Love is in the details, I think.
What a guy!!
I just realized that I should fill up my gas tank tonight because tomorrow I’m leaving before 5 am to go exercise (!!) and it would be bad if I ran out of gas at that time in the morning! The light came on and I still have some miles left, but I don’t want to risk it. So, I mentioned it to my husband and he offered to go and do this for me…AGAIN! WHAT A GUY!!!
For my bday he got me an MP3 player a little earlier because I needed it to record my classes…and for music :) I love that thingy!! Then on the actual day he got me these beautiful yellow roses bouquet and we went to my favorite restaurant, Cucina Pomodoro. I had found out they were having one of their events when you taste all the new dishes and the chef teaches you how to make a dish, there’s wine included. Anyway, it happened to be on my bday so we went there and had a great time. Here’s what is more amazing about my guy…I was bitchy, feeling down and sad…and he was patient and let me talk it out and helped me out of that stupid funk and we had an awesome time. And then, as if that wasn’t enough! he took me shopping!! WHAT A GUY!!!! WHAT A GUY!
Ohhhh…I love it when he does this for me. The other day I came back home really late after school. I was exhausted and didn’t want to stop to get gas. I told him I’d get up early to fill up on my way to school. That evening he went out and filled up my car…ooooohhhhhhh WHAT A GUY!!!
He keeps telling me that he believes in me and that he loves me not because of what I do for him but because of who I am. I often feel I have to cook and clean perfectly to be the perfect wife for him (divorce leftover hangups). Time after time he tells me that while it’s nice to get those things and he loves what I do for him, that is really and truly not the reason he fell in love with me. I’m always amazed at that kind of love, what a beautiful gift to be loved even when I am way less than perfect.
WHAT A GUY!!
After hearing me go on and on about my bad day, and not feeling like working out and feeling ugly and fat, and blah blah blah (I would just hang up on me! I swear!!...) He went to the store and got me this pair of running shoes I’ve been wanting for awhile and surprised me with them. I was so happy…I love these shoes. The idea is to use them to run, i know…and I am not a runner yet but baby steps, baby steps!! WHAT A GUY!
Last weekend he had to go camping with the Senior class at school so I was home alone…and dreading being away from him.
On Friday morning I get a text from him telling me to look behind our wedding picture. There was a beautiful card there, and he made me cry with all the nice things he wrote in it. He had also written some instructions for me: go into his closet and open the grocery bag. In it he had several things that would remind me of dates we had in the past. On the card he wrote each “menu” according to the dates.
-Mango and Sangria: remembering Ensenada
-String cheese and fruit leather “martin fierro”: remembering Argentina
-bread and cheese: our classic breakfasts
-fruit and cheese: Pierre Lafond restaurant SB
-bottle of peach tea, make believe it’s pear cider: remembering our first Renaissance Faire
-chocolate kisses:...uh, duh…:)
He’s amazing! ...and that’s not all. On Sunday morning he woke me up with another text instructing me to look inside the hood of a jacket we bought during our honeymoon. There was another romantic card.
WHAT A GUY!!
He put up all the tiny lights and organza around the canopy for my friend’s shower party. It took him a long time and a lot of measuring and planning. He’s soooo cute!! and I am so lucky to have him in my life. That’s not all. He went home during the shower (girls only) then came back to take everything and help me with cleanup! WHAT A GUY!!!!
