Buy a House

I have been dreaming of owning a home of my own as long as I can remember. Finally, in March, my dream came true. It took a lot of searching, some soul-searching, and disappointments, but now I am in my very own house. It has been a lot of work since we bought it, but it is worth every drop of sweat and blood I have poured out!

The house hunt is officially underway. My husband and I have met with a mortgage consultant and were shocked to discover that they will preapprove us for $360,000!!! But we’d like to keep our house payment under $1500 a month, so we’re only looking at houses in the $225-250,000 range. Since we want to keep our commute under an hour, that really limits us, but I have faith that the perfect home will appear somewhere. We made our first blitz (as our real estate agent calls it) and drove around looking at listed homes. A bunch of them actually looked really good! But they were the farthest out, of course. We’ll be doing more driving around this weekend, and maybe we’ll call & see if we can have a showing at a couple of the really good ones.
