It’s been a tumultuous few months at my job. In July, by boss of 8 years left the organization. She was there for 13 years. The person who took the interim position was managing things pretty well during the hiring process. She was up for the position and one of the finalists.
The whole process was pretty strange, but I’ve never been through this before. So I’ve just been riding it out. We’ve been super short staffed during some extremely busy times so we’ve all been pulling together quite nicely. We’re just 10 right now. Fully staffed we are 13.
Well, the Board finally came to the conclusion of the hiring process and did not hire the person who was serving as interim. She immediately gave her notice.
Now we have a new CEO coming in. I know her but don’t know how tings are going to go. Again, so much to do and not enough people to do it.
I know when new CEOs come in, a lot of staff usually leaves in the transition. So I am wondering how this is all going to play out. I say “survive” which is a strong word. But it’s that fear of the unknown.
Only time will tell.
