I invested $2.60 in a recipe book that claims to have everyday meals @ $2-$4 per head and other budget recipes.
They include slow-roasted tomato tart, Wedges with Chilli Beef,Prawn Pilaf, Vegie Fritters with Salsa, Falafel and Cucumber salad, Ratatouille omelets, Ham and Noodle Salad, Pork, feta & fennel burgers, Pepper steak, rocket adn potato salad. Grilled Chicken and Coleslaw
One of the better ones have less than 1g of fat – even better.

We went for our family bike ride today and the path we cycled down had the best thing ever – along the way it has fitness stations with stuff like a pec-deck and a rowing machine and a cross trainer, steppers, incline benches and so forth.
It got me thinking that would be a way of fitting in exercise without paying for a gym membership. It’s not that close to home, so I’d have to weigh up the saving, but still, if not there I should be able to find another way of getting that kind of exercise without paying for a gym membership that is more exciting that wakes and bike rides.
I saved money on Xmas presents this year by giving the gift of time: Gift certificates redeemable for my time – babysitting, coffee and chat time, telephone time for a distant friend just as examples.
I need to take lunch and a pantry cupboard of snacks to work – I ate better when I was at home on holidays and I could raid the pantry at work I buy buy buy when it comes to food so I need to have a small stock of food like a pantry at work
Being that the plan is to have another baby I’m going to need this one.
Initial thoughts without thinking about it too hard:
Plan my outings to conserve petrol(gas)so that I’m not going back and forth – like picking up milk on my way to day care.
Use my bike more than my car on weekends
Use that god damn piggy bank like it is supposed to be, not raid it!!
