I’ve always read, sure, and when I am reading, I do so voraciously, but I don’t carry a book with me like I wish I did. I don’t constantly have a bookmark in the middle of something like I wish I did. Many of the books I claim to have read, I’ve read only half of.
I am a reader; I read. What I need to do not only for my general sense of being, but also my honesty of character is to read daily. To choose a book, to read at least a chapter of it regardless of how busy my day is. I need to read before bed, to find time throughout the day to sneak a chapter, to spend a whole Saturday at a coffee shop, tired eyes and energized brain.
I want, very simply, to be the reader I pretend I am.
