It was not a difficult process because I realized how much time and money I was wasting with clutter in my life and in the house. I did not know how much toys my children had and what clothes they had available to them. Clutter forces us to slow down in our lives, it also forces us to know what we have that is working for us and what is not.
I took it slow and I looked into each closet and room and then I did them one at a time. I also made a mental list of what had to go, what had to stay and what could be donated. Assigning emotional value to each item was necessary. It forced me to know and to feel what I needed in my life.
