Listen

I took an effective communicating class and the instructor told us to try waiting 3 seconds after the person speaking finished before we started to speak. I have been actively doing this and it workd… a step in the right direction.

I know many of us have the same problem, we don’t really listen. Often we are not even polite enough to let someone finish before we speak. I know it is something I do often, though in fairness, since becoming aware, I have gotten better.

Also, I don’t remember the exact quote, but it was something about listening to the silences as well as the words – makes sense to me!
