I need to find a 10K to focus on. My feet are sore from hiking and I need to get in better shape. What I’d like is to find a 10K and a training program to build up to the distance. Time to start building back up my base mileage.
I’d like to complete this goal this year!
I might give it a go even though my time will be slow. At least it will get me out and running again. I’ve been spending too much time working lately – not enough time exercising and enjoying things.
I went for a 6 mile walk/run the other night. It was 3 miles further than I had planned but I felt good so I kept going. I am working my way back slowly. My method is to walk through a song then hit replay and run through the song. That way I spend half my time running and half walking. Music helps.
I made it 3 before I quit. I was exhausted. I’m going to have to work back up to my distances that I had been running. Too bad as I want to run a 10K in 2 weeks. I’ll go out later and see how I do.
My training has been interrupted due to bad weather and being sick so I am trying to salvage what I can. I went for a 6 mile run/walk today and all I can say is I am sore and tired. At this rate my 10K time will be dismal. Well, at least I am getting close to covering the distance (part #1). I need to work on getting faster, which should come with doing more running. Tomorrow I will see how far I can go. I’d like to cover 9 miles but I may have to settle for a shorter distance.
I’ve started with a 5K and now I want to move up to a 10K. First I want to cover the distance, then I want to work on running faster.
