My friend wants to learn to cokk a meal.  — 10 months ago

So I could combine this goal with teaching someone how to cook. We would both benefit from the effort. And it could be a lot of fun.

I need to figure out some recipes that would be easy and tasty.

Way behind on this goal.  — 1 year ago

Here’s my plan. I will cook breakfast this week. I will just have a few ingredients so that things don’t get too complicated. Eggs, cheese, tortillas, onions, potatoes and salsa. Simple but can be combined to make a variety of meals.

If I can do this, at least I will have started.

Tired so I cooked out of a box.  — 1 year ago

Rice with onions and cheese. I couldn’t find any frozen veggies to add so it wasn’t as good as it could have been. After I get unpacked and recover from my trip, I’ll cook more.

Made eggs for lunch.  — 1 year ago

Eggs with cheese and sun dried tomatoes. It was good but a little greasy since the tomatoes were packed in olice oil. I ate it with toasted flatbread.

I cooked last night and grilled tonight.  — 1 year ago

I even used herbs that were home grown. Yeah me. I made a lime/rosemary chicken. Pretty tasty. Next I’d like to make a meal instead of making just making one or two items. That will take some planning on my part.

small meals but it's a start.  — 1 year ago

I cooked twice this weekend. Nothing fancy, but at least this has me in the kitchen again. I am still trying to determine where everything should be to make cooking easier.

I cooked a few times over the weekend.  — 1 year ago

Nothing fancy but at least I am back in the kitchen. It’s nice to walk into a clean kitchen and find the items I need to fix a meal.

I need to make this a more specific goal.  — 1 year ago

I will cook one meal each week. This week I will make something in the crock pot. Stew. I will make stew. I will make stew tomorrow as a celebration of my first anniversary on 43things.

Major realization today  — 1 year ago

I was eating dinner and I realized that I take all sorts of supplements to compensate for my diet. I probably spend more money buying vitamins and minerals than I do buying quality food. This is crazy. If I ate better food (instead of junk and vitamins) I would probably feel better and save money.

Living in the U.S., I have access to some of the finest things available, and also the worst (fast food, junk food, etc.) I need to make better choices in terms of what I eat and take advantage of the quality food that is available to me.

Time to get the garden going. I can at least grow some items at home to help with my diet.

This is a goal I can work on everyday  — 2 years ago

and I haven’t worked on it for months. Why not? It’s not difficult. It just takes some planning.
