make a difference in the lives of others

Sounds simple . . . make a difference in someone’s life. But right now I feel like George Bailey in “It’s A Wonderful Life.” You know, the part of the movie where he feels like the world would just be better off without him?? I’m not close to suicidal . . . I really do have a wonderful life. I just want to feel (with or without the help of an angel) that I have made a difference in the world. I am not a hero, or an exceptionaly good person. I am just a gal trying to find her place in the world and trying to help others find their place as well. I am graduating from college in a year and will soon face the “real world.” I don’t care about making money or being successful. I just want to make a difference. Some call me an idealist . . . but really I just want to look back on my life and be able to say, “Hey, you may be no George Bailey, but you did pretty darn good.”
