I wish I could understand every political situation and know my own reaction to it, as opposed to having gut feelings which often turn out to be due to my misunderstanding of the events. Plus, I want to have reactions to things which are not in any way based on the cool/average/easy/different-on-purpose ways to react. I think in order to do so I need to sort out my understanding of 20th century history, as the only things I know anything about are the Jazz Age and some bits of Russian and Chinese history. This is often embarrassing. I also want to feel the need to complete this goal for myself, as I have a sneaking suspicion that I wouldn’t be too bothered if I didn’t think I might be caught out in a really bad way one of these days (probably at a pub quiz, as I usually have to rely on my excessive knowledge of music, film and celebrity shit to get through without seeming like a huge dumbass).
