become an architect

YAY! I got into RMIT Architecture! I was very scared I would be shipped off to Geelong (more than 2 hours from home… hardly know the place..) So; I’m very-very-very happy that I got in :) I think it may have been close for me. Even better is that my friend is also going to RMIT (communications/advertising). To put a slight damper on this.. I’m deferring it this year ;P
Anyway-
I actually did it ;) of course- my goal isn’t anywhere near complete, it is viable though! Yay!

Well, I submitted my application for the uni that required it (RMIT if anyone cares/reads this) a while back. aaand.. Just recently I received a letter telling me I’d been short-listed :D so, I have an interview this Wednesday.. I’m preparing for it with an optimistic perspective. I would prefer to go the this uni over others.. so, I hope I get it!

As I begin to reach the final few months of school I’m organising my uni applications. I’m putting my first five choices in architecture :D ; for my first one I have to complete a practical application task and an interview if I hopefully get through the application. Anyway, I’m feeling pretty good about it all! I have been finding I get a few contacts from chatting with adults If I’m out for dinner and stuff – something I had never cared about before… I must be getting old :S!

I’ve been visiting universities for their open day these last few weekends and getting a feel for what the courses are like. I’m quite excited by the folios I saw and the sort of environments there are to work in. Anyway, something good to look forward to!

A couple of weeks ago I went to a lecture at (Monash) uni, I was really impressed, I already though that this was the life for me and the lecture reaffirmed it. :) now I just need to make sure I reach my goal.

I am doing all the right subjects in this at high school and I have been getting the marks. I think my main challenge is actually getting autocad and to stop being so precious with my sketches. Anyway, I’m not doing art at school but I have been studying all types of art + architecture books for about a year solid now.

Basically, my question is: Will not having done art formally effect my chances?
