Two projects complete! 1 year ago

I finally did a little mosaics. I started the mirror probably 2 years ago! I finally decided to finish it up. It actually looked better (more defined) before I grouted it but I still really like the overall effect not to mention the satisfaction of finally completing it. I also made a candle holder because they look so pretty lit up in the dark. I made one years ago but accidentally left it at a hotel in San Francisco. I had been hoping it would show up but never did, so I made a new one. I light it practically every night I like it so much! I also started grouting another project (pillars) but ran out of grout! I was thinking of getting my grout at the hardware store instead of the craft store since you can get way more for less money. Does anyone know if it would work the same? Also I’d love recommendations for tiles. I am sick of the same old ones that I have been using. Thanks!

Untitled 1 year ago

A couple of nights ago I decided to work on a mosaic candle holder that has been sitting around partially finished for probably over a year now! I just got an itch and did a little bit of work on it while I was watching some tv. It’s funny how something so small can have such a therapeutic effect. I haven’t knit in quite a while but it was like that. A bit of mindless creativity, I’d call it. It’s something that requires just enough concentration to keep me occupied while simultatneously being simple enough that it doesn’t require ALL my attention. It was fun! I miss the sense of accomplishment that comes from creating something beautiful with my own hands. I’d like to carve out more time to take up quilting again, as well as knitting, mosaics, painting and such. I really would like these things to be an intrinsic part of me that can be expressed in a regular day to day fashion.
