Four years since I set this goal… It’s still something Ihave to think about every single day, but the good news is that I do follow the principle and have maintained my weight this way for years. I can always tell when I’m not being mindful because the scale creeps upward. I start paying more attention, and it goes back down. Funny how overeating and weight go hand in hand… :) I’m marking this one done, because I know that even though food will always be an issue for me and this will never be something I do automatically, it is a principle I will continue following because it’s so, so worth it.

I lost 40 pounds following this simple (but not easy) principle. That was five years ago and still when I find the scale creeping up, I just turn my attention back to it and the weight comes off. No calorie counting, no denying myself of my favorite foods, no missing out on going out to eat at restaurants. All I miss out on is eating when I’m not really hungry anyway.
I just want to learn to do this without having to consciously think about it.
