training for a 1/2 marathon 1 month ago

i’ve been training for the philadelphia 1/2 marathon in november. i’m very excited for it, and i’ve been building up my running. though i haven’t been running as much as i’d ideally like to be well-prepared, it has certainly helped me get fit. by the time i run it, i will be fit :)

finally on a workout schedule 14 months ago

it’s because i have a workout partner now, that i can keep up with this. i am still a few pounds over my ideal weight, but i feel much better exercising regularly. i need to get my heart rate up and i run and lift, as opposed to in the past where i would just go on walks and call that exercise. it is a great exercise, and i do it on some of the days i don’t workout, but i needed that boost. and now i’m almost fit (it’s been about 1.5 months of working out)

yeah i went running yesterday.
but today my butt hurts.
and everything.
one step at a time.
maybe i’ll get the ‘buns of steel’ dvd. ha.



not happening yet 3 years ago

yet is the key word. unfortunately i definitely don’t do anythign to help this. just walking a lot but still not enough. i should really get back into running before winter comes so i don’t not do it all winter.



i walked around a lot this weekend but i also drank and ate a lot 3 years ago

walking is good. drinking is bad.

getting poison ivy from forests is the worst.



if you want to get fit get a dog and walk it 3 years ago

i took bella for a long long walk today with many visits to people. that was nice but i started feeling a little sick. it was good though because i wasn’t doing okay this morning so i couldn’t have done anything about it then.



walking 3 years ago

walking is a very good way to do this. just more often and more vigorous. i walked last night with the dog and the friend. it was nice. it turned into more of a run anyway because we wanted to get back and watch the daily show. i still think i need to keep up working out/running and by working out i mean i hope i lift some weights tomorrow. my legs were sore today. stretching. well, stretching is a different thing.



oh my goodness yes i ran! 3 years ago

every few weeks (yes that far apart) it seems i will be inspired to go for a run. i do like them but find a million excuses otherwise usually. i went today (even though it was HOT out there) and it was actually a nice run! there’s something exciting about it being so hot and sweating in it and feeling free- maybe it’s delirium or dehydrational delusions! but i like it!

so it was good and i realized i would accomplish part of my goal if i work out sometime later this week and keep walking. that’s what i’m talking about getting more fit!

by sitting on the couch and writing about becoming fitter, am i?

obviously not. because if i’m on the computer i’m likely to eat and sit and be on the computer doing so little that’s actually productive (haha). but today i haven’t actually eaten yet. though i don’t really think that’s getting fitter- that’s getting crazy.

i better go go for a walk.

at least i’ll start work again tomorrow and that will get me back to a better sleep schedule.
