Leonard Cohen, anyone?
I fell for him, his voice, his lyrics, his guitar-playing. Delicately, stupidly, wholeheartedly. Especially, his first album “Songs of Leonard Cohen” makes me drool. How could anyone write such ethereal, wraith-like songs? And some lines get stuck in your head forever: “Loneliness says you have sinned”, “It’s hard to hold the hand of anyone who is reaching for the sky just to surrender” ... Wow. Just wow.

Intriguing and unusual experimental indie rock band from Alaska. I had some friends who kept talking about their music, so I eventually decided to have a listen. I’m not disappointed at all. I wouldn’t say that it’s my favourite band, yet I recommend them to everyone who likes The Mars Volta or anything alike. They sound a lot like them, I think. The front man’s background is worth checking out, made me a bit thoughtful even.

Camille
A French singer with a sweet, soft voice who was in a band called Nouvelle Vague and is now going solo. She reminds me a bit of Yaël Naïm with her light-hearted chansons.

Lykke Li
Another female vocalist, this time from mind-blowing Scandinavia. From Sweden to be exact. Interesting voice. A bit rough, but beautiful. Very different from Camille, though. If you like Bon Iver, you will definitely like her as well. They did some songs together if I’m not mistaken.

Wow, what an awesome Instrumental post-rock band! So much energy, life and a lot of passion in their songs that it makes me want to buy ALL of their albums. I’m so happy that I’ve discovered them! I could listen to Explosions In the Sky all day long, seriously.
If you don’t know them, go and have a listen. They’re pure awesomeness.

I’m not so much into psychedelic folk or anything alike, however, I discovered Devendra Banhart’s ‘new weird American’ music and I really like some of his songs. I can’t imagine buying an album, though. Maybe I’ll change my mind but for the time being, I enjoy listening to the songs I purchased at iTunes and Amazon.
