Today I really ought to be organizing and simplifying my home and closets to prepare for our next move. However—that all seems to mentally complex for me today so I’ve put it off for the rest of the weekend in order to enjoy a more relaxing story.
I have the day off, I have not got any pressing work tasks to finish that can’t wait until the week, and it is an absolutely gorgeous Saturday. To that end, I have been simplifying today’s experience equation:
... a little coffee
... a little gentle breeze gracing us on the balcony
... a little simple wireless computing
... a light lunch of grilled chicken and Poblano pepper tacos with a bit of fresh guacamole
... a little time listening to Machiavelli read on CD
... a little follow up fiction reading while laid out on a sheepskin rug for comfy-comfy cushioning
... a short break to do some pleasure writing and social network responding
... a big tall glass of ice cold sweet tea with an abundance of fresh lemon goodness swirled through accordingly
... and a LOT of relaxing with the family and our pets outdoors in the sunshine and beautiful quiet today for me.
Now THAT’S a Saturday simplification plan that working perfectly.
Sunday’s plans are a bit more complex, but are focusing on fun, friends, family, and frolic absolutely. The rest of the world can wait for a while. Clearing the mind of clutter is the most important first step towards any successfully ordered home, organization, or family—so I’m encouraging appropriate down time from and with everyone around me who loves me these next few weeks and months while we are in the process of preparing to transition gracefully.
