we're getting close!

My husband gets his first paycheck on Sept. 15th! Soon we’ll be on our own health insurance. I already pay my own car insurance, phone bill, medicine, ect. But next month, we’ll pay our own rent, his car payment, insurance, and health insurance, and utilities. Wheee! Why is this so exciting to me?? LOL yay I get to pay bills! I want us to stand on our own though so it makes me quite happy!

Another step closer

I’ve been paying for my own car insurance since I was 18.
However, I was on my parent’s policy.
This year, they had an accident which made my rates go up.
Backwards, I know.
So I called up gieco and got my own insurance policy like a big girl!
I saved nearly $500, and I even got a good student discount since I’ve raised my gpa :D

Also, it’s not much but I started paying my parents $200 rent for living in their garage apt. It’s worth much more, but I help out around the house also, and it’s all I can afford right now. I was living rent free here last semester.

I'm maintaining pretty well

I really need to start tithing though because I know that financial blessings come from God.

update

I’m a junior in college.
I have 2 part-time jobs
I pay for:
car insurance
medication
food
gas
school supplies

I don’t pay for:
Health insurance
rent

yay

I got paid today

slowly but surely

I just paid my first phone bill.

baby steps

so I took on more hours at work and today I bought a pay-as-you go cell phone. I’m out of my parent’s cell phone plan, and I didn’t have to sign a contract. 30 bucks a month. :D
It may not seem like a lot—but it’s one step close to financial independance than I was yesterday.
I also haven’t been to a restaurant since the $7 sandwhich fiasco!

great

I’m in the hole
