watch all movies on AFI's 100 Best movies list

I seem to be able to check a lot of movies off this list by just watching the Academy Awards winners. This is another one of those movies. I just couldn’t stay awake for 3 hours of this movie.

Interesting to see what type of movie content was considered rated X in the 60s, but overall didn’t make a whole lot of sense in the end. It seems like maybe the point is, if you’re not tough enough to take care of yourself, then you really do need a pimp?

That brings me to 43/100, which is almost double my original number. Nice!

Loved the songs, loved Audrey Hepburn.

I didn’t like this one at all. I couldn’t seem to pay attention half the time, and I just didn’t have any interest in the movie. I don’t even remember most of it.

I loved the grandpa in The Grapes of Wrath…he cracked me up! “I’m gonna get me a big old bathtub full of grapes and just sit in it and squish all around.” haha

Just watched this one tonight. I found the whole “love” story part of the movie to be pretty ridiculous. SPOILER They know each other for maybe a week or two, and then they’re supposedly in love? And she thinks that this brand new “love” is going to stop him from turning her in for the murder of his partner? I just thought the whole concept was utterly ridiculous and just plain stupid. Of course that’s just my opinion.

Since my last post on this topic, I’ve also seen two other movies on the list-

• Ben-Hur

As for the new list…I started this goal with the old list, so my intention is to finish that list, and then maybe I’ll come back and watch the new movies that were added. But for now, I’m carrying on with the old list.

As of now, I’m at 37/100

Can you say WEIRD? This was one of the most boring, drawn out movies I have ever seen! It could have been cut down to less than an hour. And honestly, it didn’t make any sense to me at all, until I watched another really boring, but a bit shorter “movie” explaining the point of the movie. It makes more sense, and I can understand the point mostly, but you still couldn’t pay me to watch this movie again. NO WAY! I’d rather stab myself repeatedly with a rusty nail….definitely.

I had no idea what to expect from this movie. I guess because it’s called _China_town, I was expecting some kung fu movie or something similar, but of course, it wasn’t. It was kind of slow, but not too bad overall.
