Last time I checked 23 months ago

was probably in August. I don’t own a scale, so I used the quarter operated scale in the bathroom at the mall. It said i had lost 7 pounds! Of course, who knows how accurate those things are. I am thinking it probably is pretty close, though. I got into a pair of jeans last weekend that I havent worn in months!

Since I’ve started my new job, I’m forced to bring my own lunch, so I buy the fixin’s for salads to make in the break room. I stay so busy all day, and I’ve been eating breakfast every morning (yogurt and oatmeal, usually, or one of the two), which helps keep me from getting hungry.

I had lunch with a friend Thursday that I hadn’t seen in a few months, and they said they could definately tell. Yay me!

And yet this goal looms... 3 years ago

In an attempt to reduce our spending as a result of the recent purchase of our home, I cancelled my gym membership. It was hard, because I did love going. My schedule will be tough to work around for probably quite some time, any way. Also, my living room is much larger now, so I can break out the workout videos…just as soon as we get a working VCR…might be time to look for some DVDs. And could Spring just get here, already?? Then I will get my hind end outside & get moving!

Frustrated... 3 years ago

Illness and my additional work demands have made it difficult for me to drag my butt to the gym at 5:30 am these days. I have also been slacking on my diet. Nonetheless, I feel like I must have at least lost 5 pounds. I have to admit, though, this is probably the very reason I’m feeling so tired. I was energized when I worked out. If I go to bed now, I might muster enough energy in the morning to get to the gym. Sheesh, you’d think 5 pounds would be easier than this!

Strange but welcome development... 3 years ago

I weighed myself again today…I’ve lost a total of 4 pounds!

Weird since just 2 days ago I had only lost 1 pound. (Scratches head) I was wearing the same clothes. I weighed at approximately the same time of day…weird. But I’ll take it!

This just in! 3 years ago

My pants are sagging in the butt today! A coworker noticed it & said my face is getting thinner, too! (giggles with glee!)

One week later... 3 years ago

I’ve lost one pound!! Woo hoo!! I know my body is changing. I feel so much better now that I’ve changed my eating habits for the most part. I try to listen to my body more. I have more energy now. My mind is clearer. I don’t get the 3:00 slump. I think in a couple of weeks I will be able to notice more of a visible difference.

The ugly truth... 3 years ago

I finally got back to the gym today & weighed in. I think I like my much more forgiving bathroom scale better. I know the reality is that the scale at the gym is the accurate one, though. ::HUGE SIGH:: I have to say this was a really hard blow to my ego, but now I’m driven. I’m only 13 pounds less than my weight just before I had my child. At that point I was the heaviest I know of. That was 218 pounds. I’ll let you do the math. It’s too embarrassing. I’ve been underestimating by quite a bit. Uummm…I’m pretty sure I’m retaining water. Yeah, that’s it. ::ANOTHER HUGE SIGH:: This has definately given me motivation, though. Enough is enough!!

(As reported on "Lose 43 pounds" goal) 3 years ago

The past week’s sore throat and general feeling of crappiness has set me back a bit. Today I’m at 90%, with a bit of an annoying cough, still. This weekend I will get back on track with things. I plan on starting Triple Cleanse as recommended by Dramatic. This weekend I will weigh in and report the results (gulp) here.
