... Summer of Monkeys by Wilson Rawls, who is more well-known for Where the Red Fern Grows.
When my daughter goes to bed at night, we take turns reading this book. Yes, it’s for kids, but I find it really entertaining as well. It’s a beautiful book for my daughter because it’s set during an era when children could just get outside and spend an entire day playing in the woods. The main character lives out in the boonies and rarely gets to go into town, so my daughter was completely amused by his reaction to being at a hotel, going to a library, and meeting a pretty girl.
Also, I’m reading The Secret. It’s very inspirational and it has already made a difference in my life. :)

... I read Night by Elie Wiesel. A quick, important read. Highly recommended.

Go Tell It On The Mountain by James Baldwin. Not the best book ever, but I did find it interesting at some points. It’s an American Lit teacher’s dream come true though, lots to sort through and analyze in order to get to the root of things.
Next: Beer in America: The Early Years- 1587-1840 by Gregg Smith. Who says history has to be boring?!

A Woman in Berlin, a diary kept by a woman during WWII during the timeframe when the Russians overran the city. HIGHLY recommended! Also, Of Mice and Men, because I need to read the classics.

I’d like to read a book every week. Once I get into one, I can’t put it down! I need to find a good list of “must reads”, as I haven’t read nearly enough of the classics. I hadn’t even read a Steinbeck until last fall!
