I realize it’s many miles less than a marathon, but this was a first step for me. (: My son ran as well, and he ran much faster than I did. I was so proud of him! He waited for me at the finish line, then proceeded to run in the 1 mile fun run!
Somewhat off topic, but… when my son was at the starting line for the 1 mile (which was geared toward children), a man who was about 45 years old bumped him out of the way and took his place. This man didn’t have a race number, so I’m assuming he didn’t pay an entry fee to any of the races. In any case, the race was about to begin so I couldn’t jump up there and ask this man to be more considerate of the children in the race. Is this normal? What should I have done? It was so strange, I still don’t know what to make of it.
