If this gets more cheers than my doctorate goal, maybe I should just do this haha.
This was my original thought:
Pretty much all the life plans I’m making are based on me getting onto the doctorate course for clinical psychology. I wouldn’t have to pay for it, I’d get paid around 20k a year for the 3 years it takes and when I’m qualified it’s fairly certain I’d fall into a job from it. Debts = Paid. Career = Set.
Here’s the catch: only 7 students from my uni are accepted onto it each year. Hmm.
So If I don’t make the cut, I’m predicting I’d be pretty down about that and at a loss of what to do next.
Thought about doing a masters in something… but don’t know what, and it would be expensive. I have some money saved for back up but meh, we’ll see. I might feel like it was the failure route, for me anyway.
So leaving the country and starting a new life feeding elephants (and cleaning up their poop) sounds like a pretty good Plan B. Because elephants are awesome. Did you know they have a greater cerebral potential for cognitive functioning than humans? Yep. Awesome.
