I planted some Creeping Phlox and some wild flowers today. We’ll see how these do.

The new flower didn’t make it. We had an unexpected frost and it didn’t pull through. The daffodils are still doing good and my lilac bush has lots of leaves and some small buds on it already. I really hope it blooms this year. Last year we had a late frost that ruined a lot of stuff in our area. I hope this year turns out better.
I planted a flower in my little flower garden last Monday. I really want to grow veggies, but I don’t know if that’s going to happen or not. I’m not even sure the new flower is going to make it. So far my Lilac bush and some daffodils are still alive.
I procrastinated and didn’t get around to planting anything. The late frost we got this year prevented my lilac from last year from blooming. It’s still alive though. I will work on planning a garden for next Spring later in the year. I just don’t have time for it right now.
Well, it’s almost April and I need to start thinking about planting something. I was going to do this tomorrow, but it’s supposed to rain all day. Maybe next weekend. I would like to do a few tomatoes, some hot peppers, onions, and I’ve heard that lettuce is easy to grow so I might give it a try. I would at least like to have some stuff to make some fresh salsa.
I really wish that the seed catalog that I ordered would get here. I would love to go ahead and start planning what I want to order. I would like to try tomatoes again and some cucumbers. These are the two things that I cannot do without in a salad. I have heard that lettuce is kind of hard to grow so I’ll just keep buying that at the store. I wouldn’t mind growing stuff to make some homemade salsa also.
I tried this a couple of years ago with bad results. I ended up with a bunch of mini-vegetables and some big, beautiful sunflowers. This year I tried growing only tomatoes and they did not work out well either. My son always jokes that I have a brown thumb because I have managed to kill every plant he has ever brought home from school or church for Mother’s Day. I want to have a veggie garden next spring that actually produces something worth eating. I am going to be planning it this fall and winter.
