create a 5 year plan

OK, here’s my plan:

Get out of debt!
Save some money
Go back to school
Get a job that I like and makes more money

I know that it’s not a very solid plan, but I really can’t do anything until I’m out of debt. So, I’m calling this one Done for now.

I would love to go to mortuary school. I would have wanted to be a medical examiner, but you have to go to med school for that and I’m too old to start med school now and I just don’t have that kind of money. I think I would be good at working with the deceased. I would want to be more behind the scenes than anything. You know, embalming, reconstruction, ect…

I am going to have to work out our finances. I have requested information from some local universities, so I can see what I need to do to go back to school. Paying off some of our bills will really help out. I hope to be able to start back to school maybe next Spring.

Recently, my 23yo SIL graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology. She is moving on to grad school now to complete her Masters and then her Doctorate. This got me to really thinking about my life. I never even finished college and have been working in retail management for 7 years now. This is not my chosen profession. It was supposed to be temporary until I finished school and moved into a career. This was not supposed to be my career. I need to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. My DH said that if I wanted to do something that I should make a plan and do it, so I am going to figure out what I w3ant to do and make that plan.
