I love this! 20 months ago

Being able to do crazy stretches is wonderful. I love the feeling I get after grabbing ahold of my limbs and giving them a nice loosening. Doing my daily stretches will benefit me for the rest of my life, and I love that it’s one more thing I can cross off my list!



Story time 21 months ago

Today I felt really…squeaky, if that makes any sense. It felt like I needed some oil in my joints. So I decided to go to the back and stretch, using one of the counter-tops to rest my leg out on and go from there. As I was bending down to get my full stretch, I heard one of the girls I work with go, “ASHLEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” So I looked at her and said, “What?”

I’ve been doing these crazy situps my friend taught me in Oregon, but last night I was doing some and I decided to stretch my legs while I was lying on the ground, and I could extend my legs upward to my head! I know I was lying down, but I don’t care. It’s definitely an improvement.

I’ll consider this goal done when I can put my leg behind my back without pulling a hamstring. Ouch.



Yoga mornings! 2 years ago

I need to start my yoga mornings up again. The sad truth is, I love sleeping. If it were a religion, I would be there every Sunday. But since I have a busy schedule, sleeping is something that’s hard for me to get a lot of of, so I take when I can get it. I’ve been learning to say no more often now, so that’s helping with my schedule, so I should be starting this soon again. I miss my yoga!

When I wake up in the morning, I try to meditate and do some yoga before I go on with my day. I think that it’s not only making me more flexible, but more at peace with my mind.

Okay, so I’ve been trying to exercise more, other than running around waitressing all night, and one of my moves is a double kick in the air, where my front leg goes forward and back goes backward, naturally, and I can barely get my back foot off the ground, while my front leg goes flying into the air. Yeah, how’s that for motivation?
