Yeah, I really do want to save more money to put towards better living in the future. However, I’m about to move into a much nicer but slightly more expensive apartment ($75 more a month) and I just bought a plane ticket for a trip back to Japan ($1300). So, I’m really not trying too hard to achieve this goal, I guess.
The fact is, I feel that I have the right to deserve the finer things NOW as well as the yet-to-be-defined future. I don’t feel I really have to make myself live in some dank dark basement apartment in a out-of-the-way part of the city just so I can have a few hundred bucks more at the end of the year. I refuse to live as though my future self is more important or more deserving than my current self. Maybe that came out really stupidly, but I hope you get what I’m saying. I deserve to enjoy today.

I want to save money by cutting on impulse buys and small luxuries that add up, like more shoes or dinners out. I do have a small RRSP account that I started with $2K last year. It’s not much but maybe some day, it’ll come in handy.
