So far, I took 12 years of French classes, a year of Ancient Greek, 4 years of Latin, 6 years of Japanese, 2 terms of Mandarin plus phrasebook-to-practical-use Italian and Korean. Perhaps my goal should actually be to brush up on some of that stuff which has fallen by the wayside. Or maybe I should have a bash at Cantonese so that I can at least say ‘hi’ if I ever meet my boyfriend’s Hong Kong relatives… I’m also keen to try Welsh since that’s what my heritage points to and because there are a lot of fun consonant-heavy words in that language. Hmmm…
