I think starting next week, I’ll just try to walk to and from work 3 times a week (M, W, and Thursday). My previous routine fell apart when I got ill, and when the weather is so good, it seems odd to be exercising indoors.
I did 15 minutes this morning, and now 10 minutes this evening. I’m doing so so I don’t have to feel bad about not doing any exercise tomorrow – and I really don’t anticipate having the time to do exercise tomorrow. But, when I do something like this, is it still exercising “regularly”? Or am I all of asudden failing to make progress on the goal because I skip one day and double-up on another?
Today I tried to do DDR as my warmup. I’d like to do this more often, but I have some environment setup issues to resolve. I managed to not do too bad on one song, but one song does not result in many calories being burned. I did DDR because I still have to clean my bedroom floor from all the stuff that I moved into it from elsewhere in the apartment when cleaning for company to come over yesterday. It was a beta-test of my tacky idea and I learned that the large, hard, flat surface that I have isn’t large enough, hard enough, or flat enough for my purposes.
Similar to my prayer blog I thought I’d create an exercise blog to help encourage me to exercise regularly. There I will keep a journal of what exercise I’ve done when, knowing that people are watching and may tell me if/when I fail to update regularly, thus encouraging me to exercise regularly. What is regularly? We’ll see. I’ll aim to make it every day, but I know that sometimes that won’t be possible – I may be unable to update the journal every day due to traveling, for example – or I may have to skip a day or two due to all-day scheduled events that leave no time or journaling or exercising. I keep such as a separate blog so I need not clutter the readings of those that have me as a subscriber here.
I switched out of “trying to live like a normal civilized person in an apartment” to “live in the apartment like it is just a very large dorm room”. I did it because I found myself spending lots and lots of time at work. As a result, the amount of exercising has really gone down, and I’m not making great progress on my goal of “exercise regularly”.
I think I’m just going to have to wait until my workload at work lightens up a bit. :(
Anybody know of a way of exercising in my sleep?
I put this on hold because of the dissertation work priority, but intend to get back to it once that is all over. I can tell already that I need to get back to it.
