stand in the rain with someone I love

I was still living in MI at the time. It was during the summer, just a plain ol’ regular day spent with my boyfriend of the time. He had been a family friend for a while before he and I began dating and though we are no longer together we still remain very close, he’s my best friend. Life when its being spent with the ones you love doesn’t need extravagance to keep it interesting, there’s too many tiny endless joys that overlap eachother distracting you from the things that you don’t have. We had no doubt finished a bout of Halo and Little Cesar’s $5 pizza when it began raining. We sat on the porch enjoying the cleansing calm that the rain never fails to bring. We talked and laughed and not long after found ourselves standing out in the rain in the itty bitty front yard of my dad’s house and even sooner we were wrestling eachother one of us looming toward our impending doom of the “puddle”. I lost, but I can’t think of funner simple time spent with someone I love except for maybe the nights we used to spend “ice gliding” over the ice galzed backstreets of our neihgborhood.
