I’ve been so busy lately, but I’ve had the time to sneak in some light reading in the form of the Southern Vampire Mysteries books. I’m currently working on the most recent two.
Another gem of a Free Book find; I bombed through to page 30 last night on the bus. Looking forward to reading more today.
I picked this up from a Free Books shelf; it’s not something I’d normally read and I was tempted after a couple pages in the beginning to put it down but forced myself to continue – and now I’m enjoying it a lot.
Am currently reading The Last Chinese Chef by Nicole Mones for a monthly book club. It’s quite good so far, and not what I usually read so a change is nice.
Well, I reached my mini-goal of 25 books last year.
25. Never Tear Us Apart
24. Every Nine Seconds
23. Magic’s Price
22. Magic’s Promise
21. Magic’s Pawn
20. Yearning For The Wind
19. Dangerous Angels
18. Skyscrapers of OZ
`7. HP & the Half-blood Prince
16. HP & the Order of the Phoenix
15. HP & the Goblet of Fire
14. HP & the Prisoner of Azkaban
13. How I Learned To Snap
12. HP & the Deathly Halows
11. Blood Prophet
10. Always Have, Always Will
9. A Strong & Sudden Thaw
8. American Gods
7. Ansani Boys
6. Speak
5. The Lovely Bones
4. Jackaroo
3. The Coast of Good Intentions
2. The Secret Life Of Bees
1. The Stolen Child
This is of course, only half of what I initially wanted to accomplish, alas. Definitely going to try again this year.
If I can get to at least get to 25 this year (which shouldn’t be a problem), that will be half my original goal for 50 – not too shabby considering I quite nearly stopped reading for a long time! Every year I’ll push for a little more. Then a little more. And I’m asking for books for Christmas. Books are beautiful.

This was a fantastic book; I happened to be walking past one of the used bookstores downtown and saw it in their “Free Books Bins” out front. A brand new copy for free! So I grabbed it along with a couple other free gems. The following day I sat down and read the entire thing in one sitting.
Amazing plot, very interesting to “watch” unfold, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in reading current popular fiction. Suzie’s death happens in a grisly manner so it isn’t for the faint of heart but the overall story is definitely worth stomaching past it for.
