I’m so tired of not accomplishing things; 2012 is the year of getting things DONE!
I’m taking a new approach to getting my site done; more focus on content first, then pretty details can come later.
I totally flaked out on my original plan of having this done by the first of the year but I’ve finally recommitted myself to getting my personal site done. I have a couple side sites I really want to work on but I’m making myself finish mine first so I don’t get distracted and never get around to it. I’m pleased to say I do have the basic layout finished, now I’m just working on typing up all the content and getting images in place. Doubtless I’ll put a link up here when it’s finished.
I finished 1/4 of my personal site today. It’s taking a while because I’m making all my own graphics and doing everything with HTML but I’m really pleased with how it’s turning out.
I finally found a format for my website and the graphics I wanted, so I’ve started putting things together. It’s slow going, but I’m secure in the knowledge that I’ll have it up and running by the end of this year, if not sooner.
I’ve got the webspace. I have the domain name. I’ve got a solid plan (finally) for what I want the content to be – it’s just the getting around to it. One thing that’s always held me back is – I’ll start a website design and not like it halfway through, so I’ll start all over again.
I also have gotten discouraged in the past that my site will never be “done” – I’ve finally swallowed the notion that a site is never really “done”; it’s a continual work in progress. Done really only means getting the core of the site up and running and being happy with it. Since making this a goal I sat down and got the first section of my site not only finished but uploaded. So it’s a step in the right direction.
