So for a week or so I’ve been working on relearning how to drive. I’m now mostly comfortable with the idea of driving on surface streets, though I have yet to drive at night much or drive at all on the highway. Those will happen soon enough. I’m hoping to actually get my license by my original May 20th deadline, but that’s up to my fiance to determine. :)

Here’s the big plan:
By May 1: get learner’s permit (so practicing driving is legal)
May 1- 19: practice driving
May 20: get license
My fiance’s also looking into buying a car for me (well, I’ll pay the bills but he’ll get the loan as he has much better credit) so I don’t have to learn on a manual. Wee!
Yes, I’m 20 and can’t drive. Sad, huh? There’s a lot of emotions there, other than fear. I really want to learn how to drive (stick shift, too) but the time I get married so I won’t be a total bum for forever. It’s rather embarassing having to tell people the reason I bus it everywhere is not because I’m too poor for a car (which may be true) but because I don’t know how to drive.
Yay for a fiance who’s willing to teach me and promises not to kill me in the process!
