I was born in Somalia grew up in Kenya and came to the States when I was 7 years old with my family. I haven’t been back home since but I do have a lot of my family members still living there. My main reason for wanting to go back home is to see my grandmother and also to go back home. I’m so damn excited. I remember very few things and I’m not sure if those are things that I think I remember or if there actual memories but we’ll see.
My plan is to fly from SLC probably end up in JFK, then straight to Jumo Kenyatta International Airport, and from there spend a month in Kenya and a few weeks in Somalia then up to Cairo for 2 weeks, Yemen for 2 weeks, a month in London, 2 weeks in Denmark, 2 Weeks in Germany, then back home.
A few weeks ago March 9th 2009 I got my application done for a Passport and they said it would be about 4 weeks. I’ve been checking the mail like a crazy person and it still isn’t here yet. I think it’ll get here next week. I can’t wait (even though I don’t like my picture)
I’ve been looking around for tickets. I don’t plan on leaving till late July but hot damn it’s so expensive.
