to Sydney for what seemed like a daunting event, but turned out to be a heavenly few days, with incredible views of the sun sparkling on the sea, tropical bush walks, wonderful food and cafes. I love more than I knew I could.

to the beach for a few days. We walked in beautiful places all day and ate greek food and watched the night sea late into the evenings, and it was heaven.

It’s so good I’m a little bit scared sometimes – mostly that it will end, and that I might never have it again, and that I’ll have to live always knowing what I’m missing.

But taking that risk is what this goal is about. ‘The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain’ (Kahlil Gibran) and all that.

In the past I’ve been so careful to have all my emotional contingency plans and safety nets in place that I think my capacity for love has been a bit constrained.

But love seems to be a big part of the point of being on the earth so I want to see what happens if I just let my heart meander and do its thing…brave, brave me.
