Just got back from a cousin’s wedding in Philidelphia. We spent more time getting there (approx. 19hrs) than at the wedding, BUT it was worth it! It was a beautiful wedding (despite being late and the rain) and a great chance to connect with family. Which reminds me, I better call my aunt.
For the reception my cousin (the groom) who has a wonderful sense of humour, revealed his plaid pants at the reception.
And, I learned a few line dances. Can’t wait to do them with the ladies at work!

Feeling Blue
Just got back from a 5 day trip to Jamaica for a friend’s wedding. It was amazing. The blue skies and sunny days were a welcome relief from Ottawa’s summer. I saw old friends and made new ones. It was really fun. Every trip I take I try to learn something about myself. Spending face-to-face time with people you care about is very important and can’t be replaced by cellphones or emails.

Last weekend I went to Montreal for my birthday and had an amazing time hanging with friends.
This weekend family visited and helped in the garden. I had not seen my baby cousin in over a year!!!

I am afraid to say (write) how long it had been since I last saw my uncle. I finally got on the bus (which was easier than I remembered) and headed to New York last Friday. Without getting into the details, I had a great time. Time lost can never be regained. Pay attention to the important things (and people)in life.
I feel like I am doing well with this goal and I am tempted to mark it checked … but I think I need to continue to work and make this a “habit.” :)

My stomach is about to pop. Just came back from dinner with a friend. Very nice evening. Ate way tooo much. My friend will be leaving Ottawa in July. So, I will have a chance to chill with her before she moves. I am going to make sure I make the time (gotta make this a habit)

I am taking this goal VERY seriously. I went out with some friends yesterday. It was fun! We went to a fusion resturant (Savana’s) and then went on to dessert at “Oh, So Good!”
For dessert I tried the Lemon Parfait instead of ordering the regular (Carrot Cake). Somethings are best unchanged. Carrot it is next time.
oh oh and I made sure to ring a friend in Austrailia this morning.
What is life if we don’t share our time and thoughts with friends and family???

Re-FIRE-ment

Yesterday we held a retirement party at my work place for an amazing employee. So many people made an effort to attend. Most of whom do not work with us on a regular basis. The lady who is retiring is a wonderful person who made a difference in the lives of countless people and in her retirement she is planning on volunteering overseas. A excellent example of what it is to live life to the fullest … right to the very end!
It is important to take time out to celebrate people in our lives.

Yesterday, (sigh) was the end of a very looooooong week. I was invited out and was close to opting out and staying home, but I decided to suck it up and head to Jo’s house and WESTFEST. A great night!

I am on a roll! Two weekends ago I made sure to attend a friend’s wedding (I can’t tell you how many weddings I have not attended). And tonight I just came back from dinner and shopping with my ex-boss. Making sure I stay in contact with people I care about!

Today is my BDay. Last night I went out to dinner with a friend to a resturant in Little Italy called ‘Stoneface Dolly.’ Yum. Then we rented a DVD – Miss Potter – fell asleep and this morning met up with a few other folks … had breakfast/lunch and went to Art in the Park … and now I am going to ring up another friend!
