We (my co-worker and I) finally got our green board up in the staff kitchen two weeks ago. With all the “green” and “environmental” talk we didn’t think that it would be this difficult to get our project going in a non-profit organization, especially since we weren’t asking for help or money(yet). Instead of feeling green we were feeling blue. So, getting the board up was definately a step in the right direction. Staying motivated is definately a challenge. My co-worker handed me a copy of Julie & Julia … she read it over the weekend said she found it inspiring.

There has been alot of talk at work about saving money and for those of us that are green, it has presented an excellent opportunity to push for a greener work environment. A few of us met about saving paper and we are going to come up with a few ideas and post them on a “Green” board.
On the list this week is to finally get a composter for the backyard.
I am currently working with a few people at work to “green” our workplace. So far, it has been both exciting and frustrating, but we will press on.
Also, at the end of March I attended the Green Festival in Seattle. It was a great experience.
I limited the amount of gift paper I used this during the Christmas season. Using mostly bags and actually opting in some cases not to wrap the gift.
And in accordance with my wishes my mother did not wrap my gift, which was a bracelet (re)made from silver forks!
My dad is putting in a 3l-6l toilet in my bathroom. sweet!! And I put a water barrel in the backyard this spring.
