grow a bonsai tree

Young Billy is shaping up well.

Yes folks, a few bright green shoots are sprouting!

and Billy is still doing well, healthy and growing! I can’t believe I have had him this long, hell I can’t believe I have kept him alive so long!

Billy Bonsai was examined by my mother yesterday and found to be growing adequately and well. Good God, it’s almost two months now and I haven’t killed it, that is some kind of record for me!

two months is only just round the corner. Little Billy Bonsai is still going strong and next week I see my mother for horticultural advice. Just have to get through the repotting safely and we could be in business!

It’s going well and I am pleased with it so far. Luckily it doesn’t require too much attention right now so i can get used to it and build it in to my schedule. (Difficult when you work constantly changing shifts).

Met up with my parents and they had got me a bonsai for my birthday as they remembered me talking about it! It’s a myrtle and I have to read up and look after it. Can’t wait! I think I will take a picture of it for tomorrow’s photo of the day!

...... I mean once in a while I get the urge to brighten the place up, get a pot plant or something but invariably they die a horrible death. I had a cactus once, that was great, looked after itself and forgave me for not watering it. It flowered really well then someone stole it when I had a party! I figured that a bonsai might be robust enough to cope with my bad gardening and of course I will be motivated to prune because there’s always the chance it doesn’t know it’s bonsai and tries to grow out the top of my house!
