knit or crochet my friends birthday gifts this year

Well, this year I have made a number of knitted beanies – rustic, chunky ones in earthy tones for the hippies, black with silver sequins for the glam girls and loads of baby beanies with pom poms and fun, bright colours. Ooh – as well as a really cute pale orange baby cardigan. Its been really cool to be able to handmake gifts for friends and tailor them specifically to them. I saw a friend that lives in another state – almost a year after I had sent her a scarf for her birthday and she was wearing it when I saw her and said it was her favourite item and she wears it ALL the time. Yay!

I have just finished the coolest beanie! Its for a friends birthday, so I started on my mission. There are four friends I want to make things for this year and one baby. I’ll have to put photos on Flickr as I finish each piece.
