Man, could that guy cook. Also Bolognese and that rigatoni were some of my faves. But he also made some gross things like brains. He really wanted us to eat brains. He tried making brain burgers but that white gooey center is hard to disguise. We had a big family dinner every Sunday.

He liked to wear crazy wigs and masks. Actually when we were little we would always play this monster game when he came home from work. He would come home and charge into the living room like an insane monster and pick us up or roar and tickle us. I remember it actually being pretty scary sometimes! Other times he would suddenly jump out at us with a crazy wig or some goofy mask. He liked to be scary! =)
My Dad did most of the cooking when we were kids. He loved to cook and make amazing dishes. He was pretty strict about us eating all our food though and sometimes we weren’t so crazy about chicken teriyaki, let alone brains meatballs. Mostly he made delicious pasta dishes and salads and luscious meats and soups. It’s a pity that we didn’t learn from him. His cooking was amazing. Even when he came to live with us in his last years he cooked lunch for himself and it always smelled so good.
When I was a kid my parents liked me to perform for them and their friends. Sometimes I would dance for them, and when I did my Dad told me I had the body of Mitzi Gaynor and the soul of Margot Fonteyn. He and my mom used to go out to the ballet and cabarets so I took it as a high compliment. He was very nurturing regarding my abilities but never pressured me to achieve anything. I miss him.
