learn jazz piano

At the local music shop (the one about 2.25 km away), there’s a piano teacher named Fred, who I run into when I’m lusting after the weighted keyboards once in a while. I have four copies of his card and it’s 2006, so it’s about time to find out what his rates are. I already have an exceptional foundation in both traditional and jazz theory and can read a lead sheet. I just have to figure out how to play the chords and the melody at the same time.

First, I gotta get my stuff straightened out enough to set up the piano again. I moved into this place in August of 2003. Most of my books are still in boxes. Not only that, but most of the boxes are exactly where I put them when I moved into this room. A friend of mine bought me a new keyboard stand in January, for my birthday. It’s still leaning against the wall where I left it.

So, yeah, I gotta set things up again. Some time soon.
