My new job is bringing a few (good) challenges. I’m relearning skills I haven’t used since I was a student and learning about new areas in my field. Not sure whether they’re directions I necessarily want to go in long-term but it’s probably a good point in my career to be refreshing some skills and keeping my CV broad.
I’m mostly just happy to have some part-time work after months of unemployment! And the new senior starting is quite experienced, I’ll make the most of having her around and try to learn a lot.

I’ve found a research job I could go for. Not the area I wanted but the generic skills I would be using would be quite transferable to other projects. I fulfill all the criteria they’re looking for (I’m probably overqualified). Just hope I wouldn’t be bored.
...hmmmm… To take a job for the sake of having one or to wait for that elusive “one”?
I don’t feel like I have much choice seeing I’ve changed countries and come to a small town. I should probably just get my foot in the door.
