i was at itlian camp with several other people from sydney studying italian at uni or evening classes.
we spoke only in italian for 48 hours, played card and board games, did yoga, bushwalking, bocce, soccer, pcnic etc and had a ball.
being surrounded by the language and expressions again for an extended period of time (as opposed to hour long sessions at uni, movies or conversation groups etc) really did make me miss my host sister.
one day i’ll be fluent. at the moment i’m working on expanding my colloquiallism vocabulary so i can express things in more than just way (ie being able to say “A is contingent upon B” instead of just “A depends on B”) and just wanting to sound a little bit more sophistocated, educated.
