Last night, a friend told me that there was going to be a lunar eclipse. I decided to miss it, even after missing the Perseid meteor shower. I’m back to work today and want to be at top energy and mental focus!

Wednesday Caught up on sleep in the morning, and then didn’t stay out too late with friends watching fireworks.
Thursday Came home from work early, went grocery shopping, did almost nothing, got to sleep at about 10:30 p.m.
I’ve gotten eight hours of sleep two nights in a row.
I got very sleepy late Thursday afternoon, so my sleep schedule is not completely back to normal, but this is a big improvement from last week.
For the last couple weeks, my sleep schedule has been way off. (Two weeks ago, I did something daring and passionate that kept me up well past bed-time. During the week.) I’ve been a zombie starting around noon, and then getting powerfully sleepy around 4:00 p.m. and needing to take a long nap. Around 7:00 p.m., I’ve gotten a blast of energy—too late to get work done. Day after day has gone by, with me sitting sleepy at my desk, not getting much work done.
I’ve fallen into cycles like this in the past. They’ve kept going for as long as six months. I now appreciate how costly a messed-up sleep schedule is.
I’m not sure what to do. I’ve tried forcing myself to go to sleep early and forcing myself to wake up early, without much success. Oddly, one thing I have not tried is drinking coffee in the morning. Tomorrow morning, I will go out and have a cappuccino.
