I find it so easy to fall out of good habits and so easy to slip into bad ones. I suppose that means I really want to be bad and not good. I have been working out every other day for four weeks and want that to continue. I feel better when I do and I get more done on days that have work-outs in them. I feel energized when I work out and (generally) have more patience with myself and others. So, that’s a good thing! It’s almost 2 AM and I should be in bed. That’s the next thing I’ll work on, getting in bed at a reasonable hour.

but if I only have 15 – 20 minutes, it’s better to work out for 15 – 20 minutes than it is to decide that I’ll work out more the next day. My workout schedule has settled into 3 days per week of working out and 3 days per week of walking/hiking. It’s made a difference, but now I have a 20-something friend who is jogging and working out and I’m beginning to feel the need to kick up the workout a notch.
but I haven’t been good about sticking with it. It looks like I need to really cultivate self-discipline and stop allowing myself to be distracted or discouraged from doing what is important. A friend of mine and I kicked the soccer ball around for 30 minutes and I was out of breath. That has to change, for the better.
Stop snickering, Anne.
So, today’s workout took just under an hour, despite the increase in reps. I skipped a few days after the procedure, but am back into the swing of it. Now I just have to keep going strong through May and my trip to Puerto Rico!
I keep bumping up the reps and adding exercises. There are now 12 things on my list, not including the ‘ear-ups’ that my girlfriend added to the list.
for the past five weeks, I have been working out three times a week. Trouble is, as I ramp up the repetitions on the weights, it takes longer and longer to get the workout done. If I do 60-100 reps of the various exercises, it takes me about 35 minutes to finish the workout, so I have to get up a little earlier. Ugh.
I was shooting for every day, but have been actually working out about 3 times each week, but it’s an improvement. I actually feel much better when I exercise in the morning. Getting my blood moving and then taking a good hot shower is a great way to start my day. Sadly, it means getting up at 7 AM, which for me is rough. No staying up until 2 AM any more.
