that I’ve managed to do with this over the last couple of days, is to add a few more fruit labels to the relevant page.
When my parents and nephew arrive for a visit in the next few days (hopefully). I think that I’ll have a go at the page that requires you to paint a picture with your dinner.
I’m planning on cooking herb & garlic lamb shanks one evening, and think that the gravy from this would be the perfect medium to create with, and would be fun to do with my nephew.
Mum will hit the roof! That’s if she doesn’t lay a square egg or two first.
;-D

and only remembered where it was tucked away after digging it out from under a pile of home made patterns off the kitchen table tonight.
Will try and get back to this soon.

I’m planning on taking it home with me and encouraging Mum to have a go with me. She’s a tad mortified that you have a book specifically to wreck it.
Could be a bit of fun with pushing Mum’s boundaries along with my own. he he he

Included running the sewing machine down one page to stitch something on it. Sticking fruit stickers on another, and sticking used stamps onto another page from mail that has come through my mailbox.
All of these were following instructions of course. Am looking forward to doing more as time goes by…....

I had been told four days ago that it would be 7-10 days before it arrived, so it was a nice surprise to get a call from the bookshop today letting me know that it had arrived.
Have taken a photo of it in it’s new state. It arrived with a few creases and bumps, which is good anyway, because if I follow the instructions throughout it’s going to be really trashed by the end of my working with it. I’ve already cracked the spine as per one of the instructions.
Fun and tentative times ahead. I think that after many years working in the book industry, while also being an artist, it’ll be like therapy to be able to trash a book when I have such firm beliefs about taking good care of them.
I even bought an old copy of a novel a couple of years ago with the thought in mind of using it for some artworks. It’s still sitting on my bookcase untouched because I couldn’t bring myself to deface it.
Let the fun begin….....

To buy a journal with the purpose of wrecking it.
Even while studying at uni, where visual diaries were part of the requirements of our course, I still had problems with scribbling and defacing pages in something that I always felt had to be neat & tidy.
I’m going to buy this book as a belated birthday pressie to myself and proceed to wreck & have fun. :-)
