start saving for our next move

A little more to put away this week! ;-)

Received another child support payment today from the ex-husband for my little one. I’ve learnt not to expect these to come in regularly due to his history of meanness. So each month if one comes through it’s like Christmas in our house.

I can afford to take my little one to some music and dance playtimes for the next few weeks now. She loves them so much and it’s a special programme that we only have access to for eight weeks. I’m so excited that I can now pay for the rest of the sessions. YAY!!!

The other major upside of this is being able to stash another amount away towards our moving fund. Yippeeeee!!!

A very unexpected back pay of child support came through, which has gone straight into my savings account. I did have to dip into it this week for a couple of bill & medical expenses this week. But it’s been a great start!! Yay!!!!

start tomorrow, when my next pay packet comes through. For the first time since separating from my nasty ex (now nasty ex-husband – yay!). Who had gone through all my savings, while being a nasty partner/father. This has meant a long path of struggle and success to recover from the financial destruction that was caused by him being financially abusive amongst other things.

I am in finally the position where I can start saving for our future. It’s only going to be baby steps, and my first priority is to save for another move in a few months to keep us safe. But after a very long 18 months of working very hard to recover from this situation, with nothing in my pocket, I feel so proud to be making this first step. Yay!
